Early life and education
Newcomer attended Union College from 2018 to 2021, completing a Bachelor of Science with a dual course of study in geology and economics.[1] As an undergraduate he conducted research examining national water usage and nitrogen fluxes, an early thread of the water-technology focus that would later run through his podcast work.[1] In 2020 he held internships with City Youth Now, a San Francisco youth nonprofit, and the California Academy of Sciences.[1]
While still at Union, he co-founded Entrepreneurs Of the Nott (EON), a student entrepreneurship organization, and served as its president from 2019 to 2021.[1]

Earth Onward (2024 to present)
In September 2024, Newcomer founded Earth Onward in Philadelphia, describing the company's mission as helping heal the planet.[1][5] The company operates as a climate media and events business built around three connected outlets: The Grove Climate Podcast, which he hosts; a written briefing, The Grove by Earth Onward, to which he is a regular contributor; and the Utility Innovation Summit, which he produces.[2][4][3]
